Brooke-IGAD devoted a special conference to review and debate the current status, socioeconomic and trade impact of donkeys in Eastern Africa.
This was a two – day conference organised by Brooke East Africa and the IGAD Centre For Pastoral Areas and Livestock Development (ICPALD). The aim of the conference was to sensitize the government on the need to #BanTheTrade of Donkey skins across the country.
The theme of the conference was #DonkeysBetterAlive.
The conference was held between 26th and 27th November, 2019 at Laico Regency Hotel.
The conference brought together over 200 delegates from the following countries: Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, China, Turkey, Niger, Senegal and Kenya.
