Choosing the right event managment company.

Choosing the right event managment company.

You’re just about to host an event, be it a big or small event and you are wondering how do I even begin?

So you attempt to do a thing or two but things prove to be a tad bit difficult along the way. That’s when you decide to contact an event management company.

The big question is how do you get the right event management company on board?

1.Know Your Needs.

Even before you contact an Event Management Company you need to know what exactly you need. This will help you in filtering through the many companies available and their ability to meet your needs. Make a list of the things you would like to be done.

2.Do A Background Check On The Company.

Ensure that the company actually exists. Before making any form of payment, check legality of their papers and existence of office. Physically present yourself at their office to verify. It could easily be a hoax. You don’t want to end up duped on your first time.

3.Experience.

Experience is acquired through practice. Check for how long they have been in the business. You could also request the company to show you some videos or photos of their past events in order to get a feel of what they have to offer.

4.Testimonials.

Contact people who have had experience with the company. Ask them if they encountered any problems with them and how their services were.

This will help you know more about the company.

5.Relevant Experience.

Look for a company that specializes in a particular type of event. (Wedding, Corporate, Fundraising). If you’re having a wedding make sure you go to a company that specializes in that area. You don’t want a disaster on your special day, would you?

6.Qualifications.

These days anyone who organized a small event back at school calls themselves an event organizer. Even when you visit a dentist you have to make sure that he/she is qualified and doesn’t mess up you dentition.

Same case applies to any event management company; enquire if the staff actually studied on the area and do they have certificates to prove it.

7.Instinct.

Have a sit down with the event manager or the head of the organization to get a feel of one another. You will be able to tell whether you might work well together. Do you understand each other? Never doubt your instincts.

8.The 3Cs.

Meaning; Collaborate, Communicate, Corporate.

Communicate is key for you to understand each other. A great team manager will be available, approachable and accessible. Your ideas will keep changing along the way therefore they need to be able to meet your demands.

By collaborating you get on the same page.

9.Excellent Time Management Skills.

In order to produce a successful event it is important to deliver each and every stage of the project on time.

Any delays can be disastrous to your event hence it is important to know will they deliver on time. Ask if they have a time management system in place so as to stay on track.

10. Team Work.

Being able to work together as a team is a crucial ingredient for success. Get to know more about the people involved in organizing your event.

It takes dedication from each team player for the event to be successful.

Thank you for your time. Feel free to drop by and leave a comment. Till next week, ciao!
